Why is it a “different story”? As a white person I don’t sit there and say “god that writer is white and should know better”. Honestly I don’t even look at the authors’ name and think “oh they must be white” or “they must be ….(insert the nationality of your choice). I read their story, that’s it. Stories that resonate do so because we all have some shared human experiences, experiences that transcend color or nationality. The stories that speak to those shared experiences are the most powerful.
