So the father of your child has no say in the approach the 2 of you will take child rearing? It’s your way or the highway? Generally I agree with most of what you set forth in this article but that final line made me go back and reread the whole thing with a different mind set

I do think some things are too “Adult” for children but you need to be careful about avoiding important conversations and using the convenient delaying tactic of saying “wait till you are older”

I do think children need to be exposed to death but not sure if a child needs to know the ugly details of dying from cancer. Why is it important to deal with “Cancer” instead of focusing on the emotions surrounding death. Childhood is a time to grow and build those coping mechanisms to deal with some of the uglier facets of life.

Children really are not “mini adults” they are creatures who should be allowed to enjoy their imaginations and the joys of childhood.
