People like me? Tell me what do you know about me exactly? I always find it interesting when someone starts with “people like you” comments. To simply relegate someone to “other status” without knowing anything other then they disagree, or are a different color or are a different race smacks of intellectual dishonesty at best and at its worse is bigotry.

I am not shifting the subject to the evil of others. As humans we will never be without evil and flaws. To simply punish ourselves without examining how the evil came about is simplistic at best. America did not invent slavery nor did it invent bigotry. However the suggest one should be guilty over the sins of their fathers is horrible and will never allow us to proceed forward to fully solve our issues. We cannot fix the past.

Yes we need to act to rectify the evil done in our country but slavery and bigotry is not something we invented but a failure to insist we live up to our ideals.
